Recruit like entrepreneur

This morning, the executives in the Vendep Capital portfolio companies learned what it means to recruit like an entrepreneur 🔎

Raman from talentX shared a fresh approach to hiring critical and complex roles for your startup. Here are some key points from the session:

⚡️ Just writing a job post and sharing it on Linkedin might not be the best way to get the best candidates for high-complexity & low-availability roles. Shocking, right?

⚡️ Instead of starting with listing requirements, list what this person should achieve during the first six months. After that, try to understand what kind of profile could theoretically accomplish all that and where you could find those people.

⚡️ Pitch your role first to the hand-picked ~20 people that you believe would be a good fit, and only if you start seeing positive results, move on with the process on a bigger scale. If it doesn’t work, return to the start and build new hypotheses on the ideal candidate profile.

⚡️ Look for signals that could make someone consider leaving their current company. These could be, for example, acquisition, organizational restructuring, leadership change or lack of funding.
